Okay, this felt a bit weird because although I’ve decided to comply with my deck that seems to want minors put aside for now, I can’t say I’m totally comfortable working with just the majors. It’s not something I do.
I guess it was mildly fitting that I drew Strength. Be strong, Hils – you can do this…!
I wonder who is the stronger in the picture, the lions or the female? She’s demonstrating her ability to get the lion to do what she wants, but the other male and female ones at her side look quite ferocious. I get the feeling that while ever she treats them with respect, they’ll look out for her.
So the Strength card has brought me to respect. I can relate that to a couple of things in my day, both given and received. One instance isn’t over yet, I’m still waiting to hear from someone.
This also pertains to my VR deck. I do have the utmost respect for it as it’s never let me down. I trusted it when it let me know that it wanted me to work with just the majors – (even if it did also entail a ‘just a thought…’ from KK!
I’ve learned something new. I’ve always associated this card with inner strength coming to the fore when needed. I don’t think I’ve ever read the word ‘respect’ in it before.

I've never worked with just majors before either - this will be interesting! :)
ReplyDeleteI have one Majors Only deck, but I find it a bit confusing... Blue Moon Tarot.
ReplyDeleteSo did you split the deck up, or are you drawing what you draw and it just seems to always be a Major?
It began when I started my blog. Out of all the cards I've drawn, only one has been a minor. It was making me wonder, then KK suggested that my deck just wanted me to use majors.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Haiku thread at AT this morning, and drew The Emporer. Another major. After that, I split the majors from the minors and I'm going to see how it goes. When I feel I'm not getting anything new anymore, I'll use the full deck again.
That's the plan, anyway! I'm hoping my deck's trying to tell me that I have a lot to learn with the majors.
Congratulations on a big step! Once you have the Majors under control it should be easier to apply their meanings to their "shadowed" minors.
ReplyDeleteI have always liked the VR strength card Hils, and I think your interpretation of respect is a good one, not only does the lady and lions have respect for themselves, but also for each other. I like too the way she encourages the lion to do her bidding, no force is necessary just the quiet inner strength that gives her confidence. Look at the red dress she wears along with the pink sleeve trimming which shows me the self confidence she has but that she tempers with love, and in so recognising those conflicting forces that surround her, but yet showing respect for them, she herself comes to a deeper understanding of herself.
ReplyDeleteThe whole card seems to say that she could deal with any unsettling situation not just with calmness but also with courage and determination.
Sorry rambling on here, but it is a lovely card.
Thanks Helen and I agree. I did notice that about the dress sleeve and thought she oozed confidence.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for using only majors. That is a tough thing to do. I have been thinking about using majors in the spread and using the minors to flesh it out but I just cringe when I think about it because the majors always leave me a bit confused about what I am really trying to understand.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry
ReplyDeleteIt does feel wierd but so far, so good. I agree with KK that the majors have a lot to offer on their own so I'm sticking with it whilever they talk to me and I understand what they're saying. If that stops happening, the minors will be joining them again.
